WHY PHI PSI?

Joining a fraternity at the University of Oklahoma makes collegiate life more meaningful. The Phi Kappa Psi Fraternity has been at OU since 1920 and offers brotherhood, alumni mentorship and internship opportunities, leadership development, intramural athletic competition, social activities, community service, and academic support for their members. Brothers develop a strong sense of belonging to their organization and loyalty to OU through the Greek community. Membership is lifelong and Phi Psi has a strong and active alumni presence at the national and local level who are involved with the chapter. Rushing a fraternity can be an exciting time, but can also be overwhelming. In the end, remember to select a fraternity that feels like home. We know that home will be at Phi Psi.

As you go through rush, here are some tips to help determine which fraternity is right for you:

LEADERSHIP: As a self-governing organization that provides an impactful hands-on experience to its members. You can be a re-founding member of the Oklahoma Alpha Chapter of Phi Psi.

SCHOLARSHIP: Phi Kappa Psi places a strong emphasis on academic success. Both nationally and locally offered scholarships such as the Russ Ortiz Scholarship, provide financial assistance to members and promote the importance of the chapter’s focus on scholarship.

MENTORSHIP: Membership in Phi Psi is lifelong. Local Alumni work with the undergraduate membership to improve their skills and prepare them for internships, job placement, and life.

FRIENDSHIP: For Phi Psi’s members, the bond of fraternal friendship begins as an undergraduate and remains unbroken throughout their alumni years. Every year additional members join the Phi Psi family and form unbreakable bonds of friendship.

ACADEMICS + SCHOLARSHIPS

Academics is supported through regular study hall hours and member tutoring. Programing includes academic, skills and leadership workshops at the national and local level.

The Phi Kappa Psi Foundation provides Phi Psis the opportunity to apply for National Scholarships that recognize brothers who excel in the areas of academics, chapter leadership, and campus involvement.

Scholarships can be used toward tuition, course-related fees, and required textbooks and supplies. Phi Kappa Psi membership or housing fees are not an eligible academic expense.

Applications for National Scholarships from the Phi Psi Foundation are made available each year on November 1 with the application deadline the following March 1. Awards are distributed in June for the following academic year.

More information about Phi Psi’s National Scholarship Program can be found on the Foundation’s website.
